God's Story: God Made People - You Are Unique and Special, WEEK 1 - PART 1




Did you know you are special? 
Seriously, did you know how special you are? 
Just think of all the ways you are unique.

What color is your hair?  How tall are you?  What is your favorite food?  
What is your best trait?  

        Are you a fast runner?  Do you play a sport?  Can you dance? Can you draw?

All these things about you make you unique. But they weren't an accident!

You were planned and created to bear the image of God. Watch this:





In your notebook, write down your answers these questions about the video?
Be sure to put your name and date on the page in your notebook.

(For non-readers, have a reader read the questions, allowing time for the non-reader to draw answers in the notebook.)

1. What did God create?
2. How did God feel about it?
3. In your own words, describe what an "image bearer" is.
4. What is so special about being an "image bearer?"
5. Name three ways you bear the image of God the Creator?
6. Copy this Bible verse into your notebook. Start practicing it and committing it to memory.
Psalm 139: 13-14
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

We have reached the last chapter of our peace making study! I am proud of the way you have stuck with the program and worked toward completion. Great job!! We will celebrate more fully as we can gather together. In our last chapter we learned how to use the communication pie tool to send and receive messages with people in our family.  1. Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is  found in those who take advice.  Proverbs 13:10   WHEN AND HOW TO GO AND GET HELP As we learned in studying the slippery slope, there are three basic ways that you can respond to conflict. You can escape, you can attack, or you can work out your differences in a way that will glorify God. We learned many things that can help you resolve conflicts in a way that pleases the Lord. We have discussed: How you can stay on top of the slippery slope rather than slip into the escape or attack zones. (See blog entries for WEEK 3.) What conflict is and where it comes from.
