Extending the Lesson WEEK 9

Knowing and using the 5As is a great way

to stay on top of the slippery slope and conquer conflict!

Does your word find from the workbook page 7-9 look like this?

Also, here are some optional activities to help you review and deepen your learning.

1. Role Play Activity: You and your sister get into an argument over whose turn it is to clean up the kitchen after dinner. You both say hurtful things to each other and accuse each other of being lazy. Using the first two As, demonstrate how you can handle the conflict.

2. Using the 5As as a guide, write a confession for each of the written situations.

3. Think of a choice that you have made that has contributed to a conflict with someone in your life. Use the 5As Worksheet to write out your confession.

4. With your classmates write a play about a conflict, and use the 5As to resolve that conflict. Be creative! You will need to decide what type of conflict to resolve.

Then set the scene and develop the story.

  • Write the play.
  • Assign parts.
  • Rehearse the play.
  • Develop costumes.
  • Make programs.
  • Decide if you want to present it as a Zoom presentation.
  • Set a date to act our the play for your parents and possible Zoom guests.
  • Perform your play.
This can be done as a class, group, or individually--with help and guidance from an adult, of course!
