Conflict Is an Opportunity WEEK 8 - Extended Lesson

Image
Here are some fun ideas and videos to help you wrap up this week's learning focus. Choose one of the numbered activities, and then watch at least two videos and answer the questions about them in your notebook. 1. Read the story of Joseph in Genesis 37 and 39-50 with your parents or teacher. After each chapter, make notes in your notebook of all the things that Joseph did that would glorify God and serve other people. 2. Are you having a conflict with someone now? If so, make a list in your notebook of all the things you can do with God's help to glorify Him, serve other people, and grow to be like Jesus in this situation. See how Moses had an opportunity to bring God glory. (Exodus 14:5-31) Could Moses control what Pharaoh did? How did God help Moses to glorify Himself? See how Abigail had an opportunity to glorify God. (1 Samuel 25:23-34) What did Abigail do that glorified God? What was the outcome of her actions? Look how Daniel had an opportunity to show his faith in God, a...

Who can say the memory verse from this week? Hint: "So whether you . . ." I Corinthians 10:31 Great job on ALL your memory work!!!! Each of you have always been champs at Scripture memory. NOW, BACK TO NACOMA AND HER LEMONADE MAKING In PART 1 we discovered a very upset and confused Nacoma. She said some things to her mom that certainly did not help her situation. But she learned how conflict is an opportunity to glorify God by trusting, obeying and imitating Him. And yesterday Nacoma learned how to serve others during conflict. Let's look at this further. How could Nacoma serve her parents? Cover the blue words below. Talk about this question and see if any of your answers are below. Nacoma would need to talk to the Lord (pray) about her feelings of fear, anger, and confusion. Her only hope is to depend on Him to help her do what is right and good regardless of her circumstances or feelings. Nacoma should confess to her mother that she was wrong to be so disrespectful to...

Did you get your worksheet done from yesterday?  It was full of wonderful and uplifting verses to encourage and strengthen you during conflict. Remember, God wants to grow your heart into a mature Christian. He wants to see you serving others, obeying, and conquering the slippery slope in all that you do. He rejoices to see you act more and more like Jesus especially when you experience tough times or have conflicts in your life. He is always pleased when you call on Him and seek Him to help you walk victoriously through your struggles. "WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS, MAKE LEMONADE" Today we have a difficult topic to conquer and with it, we will learn that experiencing conflict is really and opportunity in disguise. I looked up this well-know proverb in Wikipedia. Here is what I learned: When life gives you lemons, make lemonade  is a  proverbial phrase  used to encourage  optimism  and a positive can-do attitude in the face of adversity or misfortune....

Conflict Is an Opportunity WEEK 8 - PART 1

"Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."  I Corinthians 10:31 In Part Two of Week One (way back at the beginning of the summer!) in your notebook you drew your picture as an Image Bearer. We are going to review that concept as we deepen our understanding of just what it means to bear God's image. Find the picture you drew in your notebook. Look at the pictures that your siblings also drew. Can you remember the day you did these drawings? Have you changed since then? Maybe you grew taller. Perhaps you've lost a tooth or two. I'm sure you are not exactly the same as you were that day. But even if you've changed, you are still an Image Bearer. Now consider yourself and how you think, talk, and behave. Are you the same as you were back in the summer? Have you grown more loving? Are you more obedient? Do you consider others more than you used to? Do you argue less? Do you trust God more, or pray more? I'm hoping that your ...
