Savior and Friend WEEK 2 - PART 2

Image
Say your Bible verse out loud: For God so loved  the world that he gave  his one and only Son,  that whoever believes  in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16 Can you say it without having to look or read it? Here is another verse where Jesus calls us His friends . John 15:14-15 14  You are my friends  if you do what I command.   15  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.   That is wonderful news! So wonderful we should sing about it!!! See if you can do the hand motions along with the words to this song. I Have a Friend Who Loves Me! Let's look at the John 15 verses again.  In verse 14 Jesus calls His friends if we do what He commands . That means we're His friends when we obey Him, God, and the Holy Spirit.  His commands are found in the Bible, of course, b...

Extending the Learning - WEEK 1

Joseph's story and how he fulfilled God's plan for his life. (This is a video someone made for their Sunday School for which I'm very grateful. But it is the story I want you to focus on.) Consider what might have happened if Joseph had not gone to Egypt. 1. Who would have interpreted the king's dreams? 2. How might the famine have affected Joseph's family in the Promised Land? 3. How long did it take for Joseph's dreams come true? Moses was saved by Pharoah's daughter. Here is the story: More information about Moses: God's Story: Moses from Crossroads Kids' Club on Vimeo . 1. Do you think it was God's plan for Moses to have Pharoah's daughter find him in the basket? 2. What positive things happened to Moses as a result? 3. What was Moses' reaction to God's call from the burning bush? 4. Did God allow Moses to have a helper? Who was it? In your spare time, research some of these amazing stories and Bible characters: Gideon - read J...

God Has a Plan For Everyone WEEK 1 - PART 3

First of all, let's review our memory verse for this week: 13  (For non-readers, have a reader read the post aloud and work through questions together, allowing time for the non-reader to draw answers in the notebook.) 15   " For you created my inmost being;      you knit me together  in my mother’s womb. 14  I praise you  because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;      your works are wonderful,      I know that full well. 15  My frame was not hidden from you      when I was made  in the secret place,      when I was woven together  in the depths of the earth. 16  Your eyes saw my unformed body;      all the days ordained  for me were written in your book      before one of them came to be. "  Psalm 139:13-16 God has a plan for everyone and that includes YOU! Watch this video and learn about ...

What Does Being an Image Bearer Mean? WEEK 1 - PART 2

(For non-readers, have a reader read the post aloud and work through questions together, allowing time for the non-reader to draw answers in the notebook.) God made each of us and we bear His image. That is a very special thing. Just think, we could be deer, or ladybugs, or Redwood trees instead. But we are not.  We are created in the likeness of God and we look like Him.   Consider how family members look similar. They resemble their parents or siblings. We look like our family and we look like our God.   Look in your notebook for the answers to yesterday's video questions.  What have you got? Read your answers out loud. When God looked at what He had created He said, "That's good!" When God looked and Adam and Eve and the garden, He said, "That's really good!" You are not only God's image bearer, you are one of His planned creations. And He looks at what He has created in you and He says, "That's really good!" Imagine that! God lo...

All these things about you make you unique. But they weren't an accident! You were planned and created to bear the image of God. Watch this: In your notebook, write down your answers these questions about the video? Be sure to put your name and date on the page in your notebook. (For non-readers, have a reader read the questions, allowing time for the non-reader to draw answers in the notebook.) 1. What did God create? 2. How did God feel about it? 3. In your own words, describe what an "image bearer" is. 4. What is so special about being an "image bearer?" 5. Name three ways you bear the image of God the Creator?...
